Christmas/Skinfood Collective Haul (Super Pic Heavy)

Hello ladies! Tomorrow's going to be the last day of 2010 which I'll admit, wasn't exactly my favorite year. However, I'm so happy that we've all accomplished another year, and glad to see from my previous FOTD posts that my skills have improved a tad! I've mentioned before that my mum made her annual trip to Hong Kong to see my grandparents; and she has finally returned yesterday after a month long vacation! Before she left, she asked me whether there's anything I wanted her to help me buy in HK, and of course I said YES!

I was really interested in the Korean brand Skinfood as I've seen positive reviews from numerous bloggers which triggered my interest! Skinfood isn't available in Canada or the US, so since my mum was in Asia I asked her to pick up a few things for me. I gave her a list with a several items that I'd pay her back for, but she ended a ton more than I asked for! I love my mother so much. The packaging from this brand is SUPER cute, and feels pretty sturdy. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't attracted to the packaging, but that's not the point!

Some of the other items were Christmas gifts from my dear aunts, they know me so well!

Minnie Mouse Headband
My Mom got this for me when she visited Disneyland in Hong Kong with my little cousins, and she knew me well. I absolutely LOVE it! Maybe I should be Minnie Mouse for Halloween next year...

MAC 217 Brush
Can you believe that I didn't own this brush earlier? Well, I kind of did. I used the SE version of the 217 for about a year, and I thought it was pretty good for an SE brush... But the full size is just that much better. My mom picked this up for me at the Pearson Duty Free!

MAC Rich Ground Fluidline
I think I have a thing for Fluidlines, they always seem to make their way back into my heart. As of now, I own four of them and use all of them regularly. But I love the coppery color of Rich Ground, it's just so wearable. My mum also picked this up at the Duty Free.

Skinfood Lettuce and Cucumber Emulsion
I never really knew what an Emulsion was, but I've learnt that it serves a similar purpose as an essence does. Personally, I've always felt that Cucumber and Lettuce is very good for the skin because it feels so refreshing and nice! This really smells like a cup of water for your skin!

Skinfood Parsley and Mandarin Emulsion
This wasn't expected to be in my haul, but I'm actually kind of excited for it! Since it's for so called "troubled skin", I wanted to try this on my boyfriend because he's got completely different skin than me and he used to have acne, so wondering if this could help him!

Skinfood Salmon Brightening Under-Eye Concealer
I was SUPER excited when I heard about Skinfood's Salmon Brightening line because first off, I LOVE concealer, I would do just about anything to get rid of my circles, and salmon is really good for the body! I've heard such amazing things about this and am super excited to finally have it in my collection.

Skinfood Salmon Brightening Eye Cream
This comes in the same line as the concealer, and honestly, lets hope this works! It promises such amazing things and would be a bummer if it doesn't work... But I've heard that there's instant brightening effects so lets see about that!

Skinfood Black Garlic Cream
This was the only moisturizer that I "ordered" from Skinfood and I'm honestly really impressed by it, I used it this morning and it gave me the perfect moisture without the stickiness from other creams! I'm surprised there isn't much buzz about it!

Skinfood Peach Sake Silky Finish Powder
I can't help but notice the smell of this powder, it actually smells like peaches! Like real peaches! This is supposed to act as a translucent powder, hence the white powder, and promises to soak up oil and create silky skin.

Skinfood Samples
My mom was really surprised to see how many samples we got for the purchase! They include: 2x Rice Exfoliating Mask, Carrot Toner and Emulsion, and 3x Agave Cactus Toner and Emulsion!

Skinfood Black Sugar Mask
This is actually more of an exfoliator, but for some reason Koreans call it a mask anyways! Well, in a way it's a mask because you're supposed to gently scrub it for a few minutes then leave it on for a bit longer. I've heard this is amazing so I've got high hopes for it! Sadly it doesn't smell like sugar!

Skinfood Cucumber Soothing Mask
For some reason, I've got a feeling that this would be great for soothing redness and dry skin. After all, cucumber is super soothing to my skin! I think this is one of those softer masks that I could use everyday :)

Skinfood Cucumber and Lettuce Matte Gel
I'm super duper excited about this product because it promises matte skin! Although I don't have oily skin, my t-zone gets oily sometimes and really doesn't look nice, so hopefully using this as a primer will help!

Skinfood Aloe Pack, Lemon Pack, Rice Mask
The Aloe and Lemon Packs actually came in a set for about $95 HK which is about $12 US which I think is pretty good because I'm getting TWO masks for that price! The Rice Mask is actually from another set with a Cucumber Soothing Mask, all for $95 as well!

Skinfood Peach Sake BB Cream
You know, how could I buy Skinfood without trying out one of their BB creams? They might actually be Skinfood's #1 top selling product. I was so attracted to this because it has PEACH in it.

Skinfood Peach Sake Pore Serum
I would also do just about anything to make the pores around my nose smaller. It's not really noticeable in photos, but when you look close up on my face you can definitely see them. Again, I'm hoping for a miracle with this! Lastly, it has peaches in it. Loves!

Lip Balms Lip Balms Lip Balms!
Aren't these heart-meltingly adorable? I specifically asked my mom to get these in Sasa in Hong Kong since they make awesome souvenirs for people! The pop can ones are so freaking adorable it's not even funny.

Geo Angel Browns
I've actually wanted to buy a new pair of circle lenses for a while now! My older Angel Greens were getting kind of old so I decided to pick up a pair of Angel Browns which are so natural looking and less fake compared to the Greens. Love these!

Harajuku Lovers G Perfume
This was a gift from my lovely aunt who always happens to get me the most awesome Christmas gifts! I believe she got me the Tarte Treasure Chest last year which I loved, and I love this gift equally as much. It's sweet but not over powering, also not too strong! Isn't she adorable?

Benefit All You Need is Gloss Set
This was another gift from a lovely aunt of mine who's visiting us from another country! This set is super pretty, includes six colors and is probably enough for any occasion you'll ever need to attend. Maybe except a bright red...

Canon 50mm f1.8 Lens
This baby was probably one of the highlights of my Christmas! I actually got up at 7am looking like an absolute mess on Boxing Day and headed to Best Buy to buy this. It was on sale and had only 6 per store... I was so afraid I couldn't buy one and would leave empty handed! I'm mainly going to use this for my product photos as I find that it's a bit better than my kit lens. FYI, all the photos(except the ones with the lens in it) were taken with the 50mm. Loves!

Kay so that's it for my Christmas Haul... Not going to lie that took a lot of time to type! Hope you all have a wonderful holiday and Happy New Years Eve tomorrow!

  3. I've never heard of the brand Skin Food before, but it looks like they have a lot of really interesting products, even though I probably wouldn't get any access to them, I'd loveeeeee to hear about what you think of them.

It's SO funny that you left the comment about the FOTD's I post, because honestly everytime you post a look I RUN out and try it. There was this look that you posted with expensive pink + amber lights + sketch that I do ALL the time, it's sooo beautiful - and I would of never thought of that combination until I saw how stunning it was on you.
